Apologies for the long silence – again. Busy (ness) got in the way – No really!
I did keep clicking photos (albeit sneakily) of my little reader reading her books. Here’s an update about the classic called Rumpelstiltskin.
I don’t really want to write about the story – it is detailed in here and in many other online sites.
The five year old mind concluded that the daddy was not nice because he lied about what his daughter can do. It seemed Mini was a bit confused at places and asked many questions. Most of all – she loved the name Rumpelstiltskin.
Mini read this book during one of those very cold days, a few weeks ago. She agreed with Princess Rosa who also hated the winter. Mini loves snow but the prolonged period of dark days was not particularly exciting for her. In this story, Princess Rosa didn’t like winters because her castle is quite dark and cold, and also it is difficult to go out and ride her pony in the snow.
But one day a mysterious jester cames to the castle!. He started entertaining everybody with music, dancing, and rejoicing. That certainly brightened up the gloomy winters day and made Princess Rosa very happy.
Mini, who is now a reasonably good independent reader, enjoyed reading this book from her school, with lovely expression.
Mumma loved it too.
P.S. I found this poster online as all my other Thursday Thoughts. It looks like a marketing flyer from Usborne but I found the information quite interesting and worth sharing .
Let us encourage our children to read proper books to avoid this
